Very sad to hear. CRANK: HIGH VOLTAGE proved that in spite of everything, the guy still had the chops to give an entertaining performance, and it would've been cool to see some more from him. Going over his resume, wow, I guess I took it for granted just how many of his flicks were a part of my childhood -- PRAYER OF THE ROLLERBOYS and LICENSE TO DRIVE being particular faves. R.I.P.

Heck, I can even remember his short-lived TV series "ROOMIES" with Burt Young, a blatant BACK TO SCHOOL ripoff that was still made pleasant by Young's gravitas and Haim's charm. He made plenty of bad choices in his adulthood, but in the end, he'll have that sweet body of work for us to remember him.
